Demarle Silpat Non-Stick Silicone Baking Mat for Cookies, Pastries & Bread - Perfect for Baking, Roasting & Food Prep in Home Kitchens

I bought this to use in place of disposable tin foil or parchment paper while cooking, and to use as a non-stick surface while kneading dough. However, I discovered that it also works incredibly well as a no-slip surface for me to set my plastic cutting boards on while slicing and dicing. I want to order another one so that I have one for cooking and one for the cutting boards. I love that it’s reusable and keeps food off the pans. However, the Silpat itself can be somewhat difficult to clean. I used to just stick it on the top shelf of the dishwasher, but found that it was still coming out very slick with grease/oil. So now every few uses I submerge it in a couple inches of very hot, soapy water and scrub hard with a dish cloth, and that seems to work well. I wish it was as simple as a dishwasher clean but for as hard as the Silpat works in our kitchen, this is a concession I’m okay with!Gave this as a gift since I enjoy mine so muchThe amazing customer service of this company prompted me to write my first amazon review. Although I received this product with a slight tear/hole in the middle I was able to immediately get ahold of someone for a lighting fast replacement. The tear is small but the instructions clearly state to avoid use if there are any tears or punctures. Since the product isn’t a necessity for a month I was more than willing to send it in but to my pleasant surprise they offered an extremely quick replacement. I have used SILPAT before and I can tell this is the real deal. The official website linked me directly to this distributor and it is so worth buying from them as opposed to a cheap knock off. Can someone tell me if I should call the manufacturer please...Besides the holes, everything seems good!This baking mat works great! I only use the mat to bake cookies. I bake cookies daily and the mat has held up well. The mat cleans easily with a soapy sponge.Bakes a perfect cookie!!!! Love it!I’ve only used it twice so far and it’s super easy to use and clean. Although it’s slightly bigger than my pan so what I was baking all headed towards the middle as the food items heated up in the oven.
